About Us

Enterprise Educators UK has been networking, supporting and developing enterprise education for over 10 years. This national network includes over 500 enterprise educators and practitioners, mainly from UK Higher Education Institutions. Our purpose is simple - to support our members to increase the scale, scope and effectiveness of enterprise and entrepreneurship education.

We are proud to be founding partners with ISBE and NACUE in the Enterprise Alliance - the independent voice of enterprise & entrepreneurship education in the UK

Why is the work of our members so important?

Enterprise and entrepreneurship education is now widely recognised as a key ingredient of a well-rounded education. Our members recognise the need for more enterprising young people to rise to the 21st century's economic, environmental and social challenges and we identify enterprise skills as not only a crucial element of innovation in all its forms but also directly related to improved employability skills for graduates. Our members work with students, post-graduate researchers, academics and the business community to build enterprise capability across a broad range of disciplines.

So, what do we do on behalf of our members?

We support our members:

  • Regional Best Practice (BP) events – free of charge for members
  • Online notice board for job opportunities, external examiners and other enterprise needs
  • Networking – face to face and through social media, follow us on Twitter - @EEUK
  • Funding opportunities – the Enterprise Education and Research Project Fund, launched in 2011 will run again in 2012
  • International Entrepreneurship Educators Conference (IEEC), organised jointly with NCEE - significant member discounts
  • Information dissemination via newsletter and e-communications

We help our members to promote their successes and impacts:

  • Member profiles on this site tell the world about our members' enterprising programmes and activities
  • Case studies, also on this site, highlight the impact of members' work
  • Regular newsletters feature news for members and about members
  • Presenting at/hosting BP events – your chance to share your expertise with others
  • National Enterprise Educator Awards (with NCEE) – recognising the crucial role of educators and champions
  • IEEC opportunities to present – parallel practitioner focussed sessions are designed with EEUK members in mind

We lobby and work hard to influence policy:

  • Our Directors are in regular contact with national governments, devolved administrations and departments such as BIS
  • We represent our members and stress the impact of their work, for example we are active participants in the Quality Assurance Agency's Graduate Enterprise and Entrepreneurship Group
  • We play an important role on an international stage, for example working with the United Nations to develop an international policy toolkit for entrepreneurship
