About Us

Enterprise Educators UK has been networking, supporting and developing enterprise education for over 15 years. This national network, which is run by a board of directors elected from the membership and chaired by Dr Sarah Underwood (pictured), brings together over 1,600 enterprise and entrepreneurship educators and practitioners from over 100 UK Higher and Further Education Institutions and related organisations.

Our purpose is simple - to support our members to increase the scale, scope and effectiveness of enterprise and entrepreneurship education and our vision is to be internationally acknowledged as the leading independent membership network developing and empowering enterprise educators.

Why is the work of our members so important?

Enterprise and entrepreneurship education is now widely recognised as a key ingredient of a well-rounded education and our members recognise the need for more enterprising young people to rise to the 21st century's economic, environmental and social challenges. We identify enterprise skills as not only a crucial element of innovation in all its forms but also directly related to improved employability skills for graduates. Our members work with students, graduates, post-graduate researchers, academics and the business community to build enterprise capability across a broad range of disciplines.

What do our members say about us?

"EEUK Director, Jonathan Powell, has been a mine of information in helping the University of Wales Trinity Saint David team in the process of applying for Tier 1 (Graduate Entrepreneurship) visas. Working within tight deadlines, Jon shared information that he had gathered from a range of EEUK members. This has positively influenced the processes and procedures we are going to use in the future."

Associate Professor Kathryn Penaluna, Enterprise Manager, University of Wales Trinity Saint David

“Membership of EEUK continues to provide our University with many benefits.  The events are superbly run and positively enhance our knowledge of new and emerging areas which directly impact upon our teaching, research and extra-curricular activities. We recently hosted a workshop covering ‘financing student and graduate ventures’ and were delighted with the event support and response from fellow members.”

Vince Robson, Enterprise Development Manager, University of Sunderland

“The funding we received through EEUK enabled us to research student attitudes to enterprise education; this and the practice we share with members, informs our curriculum development. The recognition we received winning the HE Enterprise Educator of the Year Award has given us as much profile and traction within our university as it has externally. Membership of EEUK adds credibility and authenticity to what we do.”

Sara Pates, Enterprise Manager, University of Sheffield

“For an FE college that is focused on embedding a culture of enterprise, entrepreneurship and innovation, EEUK has been invaluable in enabling us to become connected to a wide range of enterprising educators and organisations through the network. It’s not just a UK network either – EEUK is an internationally recognised organisation and has recently provided us with valuable international links for future projects.”

Penny Matthews, Enterprise Coordinator, Coleg Llandrillo

“Being part of EEUK has allowed me to network with other enterprise champions and share best practice across many disciplines. The annual IEEC event is not to be missed for those passionate about embedding enterprise in the curriculum!”

Lynne Weir, Enterprise & Development Support Officer, Queen’s University Belfast Students’ Union

“Barnsley College joined EEUK because we were interested to share practice and ideas from other HE and FE institutions as we are championing our HE enterprise provision and actively looking to develop this. We have already benefitted through achieving a national profile for our Global Entrepreneurship Week ‘Enterprise Bus’ activity that was featured in the EEUK newsletter and on their website which has been great recognition.”

Rubina Rashid, Assistant Principal, Barnsley College
