Scottish Institute for Enterprise (SIE)

The Scottish Institute for Enterprise (SIE) is the national organisation for promoting and supporting enterprise and entrepreneurship in Scotland's universities.

SIE turns Students into Entrepreneurs. We do that through a variety of activities that inspire and encourage students who may never have thought about starting a business before, and by developing and supporting those students who are taking their first steps as Entrepreneurs.

We run high profile events, such as Regional Enterprise Days and an annual Student Enterprise Summit with great speakers. We also have a network of Student Interns at every HEI in Scotland, who support local enterprise activities.

Activities such as the New Ideas and New Ventures Competitions and our residential Bootcamp provide an opportunity for anyone to try out their business idea, whatever stage they are at. Our team provides tips and advice to help students make the most of the experience.  We also provide practical advice and mentoring, through our Regional Business Advisors, for student start-ups.

We believe that any student who participates in SIE activities will benefit, whether or not they go on to start a business now or in the future. They gain confidence, they learn what it takes to make a company successful, and they become more employable.
