Across De Montfort University (DMU) there is considerable enterprise and entrepreneurship activity, whether academic or voluntary.
Pre start business and enterprise support is provided by Campus Enterprise Opportunities (CEO) located in the Careers and Employment support department.
CEO provides information, support, advice and inspiration to any student, staff or graduate of the university through a variety of workshops, one-to-one support and an annual competition. It assists over 1000 participants a year and currently supports a number of academic programmes.
CEO have also been instrumental in running the Enterprise Inc programme for DMU, which is a project aimed to improve the enterprise skills and entrepreneurship capability of students and recent graduates across the East Midlands. Being part of this programme has enabled DMU to be one of the leading universities in the region for enterprise provision, as it has provided a significant number of sustainable student and graduate businesses.
The university also provides access to office space at the Innovation Centre, which is a vibrant place for new and emerging businesses to set up home. As well as excellent business advice the Innovation Centre offers a supportive and professional environment for businesses to grow.
