The University of Bristol

From the strong student enterprise foundations established by Basecamp Start-up Support and SETSquared the University has taken steps to centralise enterprise awareness and entrepreneurial development activity in the last two years.  Leading this is the new Careers Service based Student Enterprise and Innovation Team, the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and the enterprise pathway of our Bristol Futures concept.

Enterprise for all - Student Enterprise and Innovation Team and Bristol Futures

The Student Enterprise and Innovation Team deliver a host of workshops, guest speakers, games, hackathons, individual and group consultations, and the New Enterprise Competition (a £40,000 start-up pot) make up the basis of centralised support at Bristol.  Adding to this by 2019, all teaching programmes across the University will include elements of at least one of the three Bristol Futures pathways (enterprise; sustainability; global citizenship) as part of our credit-bearing curriculum.

Innovators of the 21st Century – The Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship

Our four year integrated masters Innovation Programmes at the University of Bristol are designed to allow students to choose and pursue an academic specialism to gain an in-depth knowledge of that subject alongside learning how to come up with innovative solutions to real world problems and see those innovations into start up enterprises. Innovation students are based in the Knot, a Bristol hub for innovators, allowing students from all of the innovation degrees to mix with interdisciplinary academics, external partners, entrepreneurs and mentors to take on a wide variety of problems together, creating an energetic studio-based applied learning environment.
