The University of Winchester offers many activities and events to promote and support enterprise.
Enterprise modules, delivered using an innovative method with an initial enterprise conference followed by tutorials and business meetings, are available to students from most programmes across the University and, for business students, the E-Network invites local businesses to provide live projects for student teams to work on.
Our Business Start-Up Scheme offers aspiring entrepreneurs the chance of winning an award that includes funding, mentoring and a range of facilities. Over 30 awards have been made since its launch in 2005, mainly in the creative industries, including dance schools, documentary makers, web designers and arts management. Business skills workshops are run and monthly drop-in sessions are offered for students to discuss their business ideas and seek further advice.
At Dynamo Boot Camps, run in partnership with Bournemouth, Portsmouth, Southampton Solent and Southampton universities, students work in teams to solve real business challenges.
An Enterprise Newsletter, established in 2010, brings enterprising minds together to share news, funding opportunities and events via fortnightly newsletters. Students are also encouraged to participate in networking opportunities from University affiliates Café Culture and Wired Wessex and our Enterprise Lecture series brings inspirational speakers to the campus.
