Here at UWE, enterprise is a big part of what we do, and we support student enterprise through both curricular and extracurricular activities. We have two very active enterprise societies: UWE Innoventers run enterprising projects and activities, and the SIFE UWE team supports projects with a social aim as they go forward to the regional, national and international competitions each year. With a core number of active students, societies like SIFE and UWE innoventers are opening the door to other students and organisations to participate in Student Enterprise at UWE.
We also give support to student and graduate entrepreneurs by providing advice and space through UWE ventures. For student entrepreneurs in the business school, there is also a unique opportunity to take a year out to do a self-employed placement.
We run modules within the business school and other subjects, and have a wide range of student led projects. Creative Arts and Media students are also well supported and engaged by the Enterprise Office at our Bower Ashton campus, which runs year round workshops, competitions and activities.
The University of the West of England takes a holistic approach to enterprise education – engaging and widening participation across campuses to develop the innovative leaders of the future.
