Enterprise is thriving at Sunderland! The University provides a range of support for students, graduates and staff that have aspirations to run their own business. Through our dedicated on-campus hatcheries and business incubators, Creativitiworks, the Software Hatchery and St Peter's Gate, fledgling businesses are provided with the facilities and expertise to help them to grow and develop their entrepreneurial ideas and commercial acumen.
Recognising that businesses and individuals need both financial and professional mentoring support to launch and operate successfully, the University runs an annual business planning competition which affords our students, staff and recent graduates the opportunity to compete for funding and in-kind support from external advisers.
Our enterprise programmes, both taught and extra-curricular, have been designed to equip our students with the necessary skills to set up and operate a successful independent business or project.
