The University of Hull has supported more than 70 start-up student and graduate businesses since its stunning Enterprise Centre was opened by the Duke of Edinburgh in December 2008. The Centre is a practical progression of the student experience though the University's provision of enterprise modules run in a variety of discipline areas. It also embraces the activities of an active student enterprise society and links in with a variety of enterprise activities (Young Enterprise etc) run across the city region. The Enterprise Centre is also the base of For Entrepreneurs Only, a grouping of the region's leading entrepreneurs who recognise the value of the Centre in driving an entrepreneurial culture across the region. They actively coach and mentor fledgling businesses in the Centre, which also hosts a range of enterprise-related events and support activities.
