Delegates had the opportunity to:

  • Learn about the current place of design in strategies related to business growth and innovation (Design Council and Innovate UK)
  • Gain a better understanding of approaches to design in the context of enterprise education through best practice case studies
  • Participate in an open, co-creation space to explore the potential of closer and more intentional connections between enterprise and design
  • Share insights and ideas with other participants through open discussion.

Summary

This online EEUK Enterprise Exchange event, co-hosted by Lancaster University Management School and Service Design in Education Network, provided an open co-creation space for educators to explore the potential of closer and more intentional connections between enterprise and design. The event was delivered as an interactive workshop complemented with inspirational examples of design practice in business education considering possible implications of the recently launched Design in Innovation Strategy 2020-24 by Innovate UK and Design Council Strategy 2020-24. Insights were gathered from participants through discussion the use of Padlet. Ideas were shared on how to introduce design practice into education in order to encourage divergent and explorative approaches to problem solving.
