This event is the online launch of the new EEUK Special Interest Group –Enterprise and Entrepreneurship Education for a Sustainable Society. 

For those who couldn’t join the face-to-face launch at the end of 2024, this session will provide an online opportunity to introduce the new SIG, its rationale and aims and share how people can become involved.

We are thrilled that we will be joined online by Dr Karen Verduijn, from Vrjie University, Amsterdam and Professor Ulla Hytti, from the University of Turku, who have been working on the Transforming Enterprise Education (TrEE) project. TrEE is a collaboration between six EU universities with the aim of creating resilience to deal with the crises and complexities of social and ecological challenges. Progress made by the TrEE collaboration will be shared, including pedagogical developments which have been generated through the project, such as ‘Introducing Regenerative Business Modelling’ and ‘Deconstruction of Ideas of Products for Hopeful Futures’.

The online session will also include the opportunity to feed into the development of the SIG, propose activities and become part of the organising committee. The Sustainable Society SIG was convened last year with the aim of connecting educators and scholars who want to develop themselves and contribute to a wider movement towards more sustainable practice in the field of enterprise and entrepreneurship education. The SIG will curate and amplify existing good practice, as well as making a strong collective argument for approaches that are in service of sustainable shifts.
