About the research project: Using participatory and design-based methodologies, the project investigated emerging forms of creative entrepreneurship and their application to teaching and learning about media enterprise in higher education, producing pedagogical considerations and resources for teaching and learning. Funded by Enterprise Educators UK (EEUK), the research explored ways in which new modes of creative and cultural work are being generated by ‘unexpected’ enterprising activities that typically fall outside traditional notions of enterprise and entrepreneurship, often leveraging the affordances of digital technologies.
The report is downloadable from the event sign-up page or via the project web-doc
(the web-doc is best viewed on a desktop or laptop computer): www.unexpectedenterprises.org
About the event: Unexpected Enterprises project researchers Dr Emma Agusita (University of the West of England) and Dr Dan Ashton (University of Southampton) will introduce the project and its findings. Dr Annette Naudin (Birmingham City University), a project contributor whose work features in the research, will then share her reflections about insights and issues raised by the project. A short Q&A session will follow.
Feedback focus groups: Following the launch event, we will be running two online focus groups (11:15-12:15 and 12:30-13:30 GMT on 25th March 2021), to discuss and invite feedback on the project findings. We intend to use this feedback when reflecting on the project findings in future publications about the research. You can register interest in participating in a focus group using the event registration link above.
