Kazakh-American Free University (KAFU)

The Kazakh-American Free University (KAFU), which was founded in 1994, has a modern material and technical base as well as a highly trained teaching staff, and is the first private university in Kazakhstan to provide  international focus on education.

One of the first in the Republic  KAFU:

  • Was accredited by the ACBSP (USA) – association of business schools and programs
  • Started using English language in as a method of instruction for classes delivery
  • Offers bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business, law, information systems, and a foreign language, as well as master’s and doctoral degrees.

Priorities of KAFU:

  • Involvement of foreign faculty into the educational process, including university professors from the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia, Singapore, and Germany.
  • Thorough study of the English language (with native speakers in-person) and computer technology, as demonstrated by two certificates (in addition to the diploma).
  • Industrial practice, which is unique to the United States and is not offered by any university in the republic.
  • The International Leadership Program, which provides future Kazakh leaders with additional training under the guidance of eminent educational leaders from the United States and Europe. The program culminates in an internship at the Leadership Academy (Portland, Oregon), where participants receive a certificate.

The Department of “Business “‘s objective is to foster an environment that will allow for the effective training of highly competent individuals in the fields of management and economics.

The department’s promising development areas include:

  1. Providing competitive employees with higher and postgraduate education who are well-trained to satisfy the demands of the internal and external labor markets.
  2. Establishing a framework for efficient administration, investing in people, and building an information infrastructure.
  3. Modernization of the inventive and scientific processes under the influence of digitization and assurance of integration with the global scientific community.
  4. The systematic growth of global operations.
  5. The development of students’ professional, creative, and leadership skills.
  6. Development of the department’s resource potential and maintenance of sustainable financial and economic growth.
