Staffordshire University is an enterprising university with Employability, Enterprise and Entrepreneurialism at the heart of our institutional strategy. We pride ourselves on creating an enterprising community for our staff and students to enable them to prepare for and engage with the business world.
We provide a supportive network of expertise across our academic departments with the primary purpose of nurturing a culture of enterprise.
The ‘Be Inspired’ programme creates and maintains an enterprising collaboration and network of entrepreneurs, business mentors, academics and industry leaders through business, networking and leadership events and the provision of springboard opportunities for new start-ups. Since 2002 through out business start-up programmes have helped to create between 40-50 new businesses a year with a sustainability rate (surviving over 3 years as measured by UK Gov.) of 70%.
At Staffordshire University we are constantly exploring ways of making an impact on society through enterprise and a dedication to stimulating economic growth. To this end we have developed many avenues for businesses to collaborate with us which includes:
- Offering our specialist facilities for prototyping and developing ideas;
- Offering specialist spaces where students and businesses can interact to joint problem solve;
- Offering funded student/academic placements for in house business projects;
- Support and guidance for businesses dealing with difficulties such as the Covid crisis.
