We have an exciting opportunity within our newly created Centre for Graduate Prospects for a Student Development Officer. The post-holder will support the embedding of employability and enterprise across the University of Sunderland, and the creation of confident and motivated students who develop into professional, adaptable, and engaged graduates with rich and rewarding life and career prospects, by ensuring that:

  • Co-curricular development opportunities for students are underpinned by an appropriate and relevant skills and competency framework with associated micro-credentials.
  • The support for the delivery and growth of the Sunderland Professional Award (SuPA) is inclusive, future focused and innovative, and provides opportunities to celebrate success.
  • Students are supported with their initial employability and enterprise information, advice and guidance needs, and SuPA success by trained Student Development Coaches working peer-to-peer.

The successful applicant will have proven knowledge and experience of developing and delivering co-curricular skills and competency enhancement programmes and events as well as knowledge and experience of managing student staff and/or peer-to-peer support programmes. You will have a first degree or significant equivalent experience.
