Salary: £40,322 to £51,034 pa dependent on skills and experience

Location: College Lane Campus, Hatfield, Hertfordshire

We are looking for a Team Leader to join the management team of the Careers and Employment Service. You will manage the Enterprise Team, to lead the promotion and development of an entrepreneurial culture to primarily develop the UH graduate attributes of professionalism, employability and enterprise through business start-up activities.

Main duties and responsibilities

The successful candidate will assist in managing a dedicated customer facing service spread over three UH sites with over 40 staff, working with other Team Leaders to deliver highly effective operational support to the strategic objectives of the Service. You will manage the Enterprise Team, as part of Careers and Employment, to lead the promotion and development of an entrepreneurial culture to primarily develop the UH graduate attributes of professionalism, employability and enterprise through business start-up activities. The post holder will lead the development and delivery of enterprise start-up, support and growth programmes.

The post holder will be a key member of the operational management team for Careers and Employment. The post holder will be needed to deputise for the Assistant Heads in their absence.

You will engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the best enterprise opportunities are available to UH students, graduates and users of UH Incubation. Skills and experience

We are seeking a candidate who has proven experience of managing a team of staff within an enterprise, business start-up or careers service in a HE environment. In addition to this, you should have proven experience of delivering and/or managing business start-up support workshops and one to one advice, or similar, and be able to confidently deliver workshops to large groups. You should have a proven track record of supporting students and graduates and should be an experienced networker. You will be a strong presenter who will inspire and challenge students and other key stakeholders through the development and delivery of enterprise and business development schemes. The role requires strong written and verbal communications skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet multiple deadlines.

Qualifications required

In order to be considered for this position, candidates must hold an undergraduate degree or an equivalent qualification.
