Student Co-working Spaces – A wise investment? Or a waste of money?

Student Co-working Spaces – A wise investment? Or a waste of money?

Thursday 16th March, 11.00am-12.00pm, On-line

Many universities either own, or are investing in, student co-working spaces that are designed to be a haven for budding entrepreneurs.

Designed to be a catalyst for the next generation of businesses, higher education institutes are pouring significant amounts of cash into incubator spaces and hot-desking facilities desperately hoping for the next Zuckerberg or Musk to emerge (bad examples, we know).

But this raises three important questions:

  1. How effective are they?
  2. What benefits do they produce?
  3. And the million dollar question: How many students actually use them?

Hear from a panel of enterprise staff from across the EEUK community on how they view co-working spaces, how busy they really are, and – for those with successful spaces – the steps they took to ensure it became the hub they wanted it to.

ABOUT THE EVENT

The Practitioner Perspective is a brand new series of short, informal webinars organised by Rob Edwards(EEUK) and Andy Mew (University of Essex) designed to bring practitioners together to discuss the challenges they face, help those seeking new ideas, and hear honest opinions on topics all linked to running enterprise activities at their college or university.

If you have a question, want to be on a panel, or have a subject to recommend, email rob@enterprise.ac.uk and andy.mew@essex.ac.uk and we’ll be in touch to discuss.

These quarterly events are only open to EEUK Associates. Please register below.
