 ‘Work smarter not harder’

Ask any academic what their biggest hindrance to progress is and it is likely ‘time’. So how, given the conflicting pressures can we make progress and work smarter in the time we do have? This session will offer some practical suggestions for making the academic cycle work better for you, with insights from colleagues and offers a swap-shop to try new opportunities based around the following:

If you would like to suggest your work smarter tips in the online session please contact your Academic Network Pathway Carys Watts in advance: carys.watts@newcastle.ac.uk

What –  colleagues to offer their suggestions and delve into ways we can be more effective. Making your activities count, repurpose your resources and  outputs, developing better habits for better outcomes

Who – anyone who has life-hacks for how to do this is welcome to share, as well as anyone wanting to find more productive ways of working and disseminating

How – Carys plus a swap shop of speakers with their top-tips hacks for productivity, working out your priorities activity (so you have something to take-away and develop)

Why – the academic cycle can mean the summer is the only ‘free’ (?!?) time we get to do a block of work; can we reshape our approach to be more productive and reach our goals?
