University of Gloucestershire

Entrepreneurialism is core to our business at the University of Gloucestershire. We help our students, staff and alumni develop their talents and capabilities so that they have the knowledge, insight and confidence to succeed in a modern, high-skill economy. Developing enterprise and employability skills is key to our strategic goals here at the University of Gloucestershire.

Our annual Business Planning Programme is just one example of how we support our students, staff and alumni to develop entrepreneurial thinking and create new business ventures.

The student-led Student Enterprise Network is another excellent way our students can develop their passion for business and enterprise. Supported by the University of Gloucestershire and the Students’ Union this society organises free business advice, talks and training and partakes in social events, trips and activities.

Hosting the annual Enterprise Awards is another way that we celebrate the success of our students, staff, alumni and business partners.

As a Skillset Media Academy, our School of Media have been recognised as a centre of excellence, developing vital training for our students and harnessing creativity and enthusiasm to develop creative products and solutions. We have accreditation from the Broadcast Journalism Training Council for our undergraduate journalism course. These accreditations put us among the highest placed media schools in the key league tables published in the UK.

We contribute to the development of entrepreneurial activity in many other ways. Our Nexus team develops innovative, bespoke higher-education level training programmes for employees delivered in the workplace. Consultancy and contract research is on offer from academics in a wide range of disciplines, to help develop innovative ideas for growing business, as is a range of professional qualifications and short courses.

Bringing together new ideas, pioneering research and inspiring teaching, the University of Gloucestershire encourages innovation and enterprise, promotes active learning and enables connected thinking.
