EEUK Announces Plans to Pursue Charitable Status in Landmark Year
Enterprise Educators UK (EEUK) has announced that its Board has taken the decision to explore and pursue charitable status, marking a significant step in the organisation’s continued development.
This milestone comes in a landmark year for EEUK, as the community celebrates the 20th anniversary of the International Enterprise Education Conference (IEEC). As the leading gathering for enterprise and entrepreneurship educators, IEEC has played a central role in shaping the field over the past two decades—making this an especially fitting moment to reflect on EEUK’s purpose and future direction.
The move towards charitable status reflects EEUK’s long-term ambition to strengthen its impact, credibility, and sustainability, while reinforcing its role as the professional body for enterprise and entrepreneurship education.
At its core, EEUK exists to ensure that enterprise and entrepreneurship are recognised as essential life skills that build agency and self-efficacy, and to increase access to, and the positive impact of, enterprise and entrepreneurship education . The organisation works through its members to transform educational experiences and support educators to excel in their roles.
As part of this ambition, EEUK is committed to:
- Building a vibrant and connected professional community that fosters collaboration, shared practice, and innovation
- Developing and recognising professional practice, informed by research, policy, and sector expertise
- Championing enterprise and entrepreneurship education through advocacy, awareness, and engagement with stakeholders at regional, national, and international levels
These priorities are underpinned by a strong commitment to inclusion, collaboration, sustainability, and continuous innovation—ensuring that enterprise education remains relevant, accessible, and impactful in a rapidly changing world.
Adopting charitable status will enable EEUK to build on these foundations, enhancing its ability to serve members, influence policy, and support the wider education ecosystem.
Further updates will be shared with members and stakeholders as this work progresses.
