FIRST is an accredited learning agency dedicated to empowering people through enterprise and entrepreneurship education. We specialise in delivering Level 1 and Level 2 enterprise qualifications, alongside flexible online and in-person workshops designed to build courage, skills, and self-belief.

Our programmes create accessible learning pathways — from introductory taster sessions that explore the foundations of self-employment, to accredited courses that support learners to develop, plan, and grow their business ideas. Learners are then supported to progress into further education, employment, or self-employment through advanced and tailored development opportunities.

At FIRST, inclusivity is at the heart of everything we do. We work with underrepresented groups and residents in under-resourced communities to ensure equitable access to high-quality enterprise education. We also collaborate with universities and further education institutions across the North East to raise awareness of enterprise education and embed entrepreneurial thinking throughout the learner journey. Through peer-to-peer learning, mentoring, and personalised progression plans, we help individuals discover their potential and turn ideas into meaningful opportunities.
