Northern Regional College

As the lead Further Education (FE) college for Entrepreneurship in Northern Ireland, Northern Regional College (NRC) is responsible for the management of the FE sectoral Entrepreneurship Hub, for the development and implementation of the Entrepreneurship hub action plan which includes the following:

  • To provide curriculum advice and development in entrepreneurship
  • To identify and develop continuing professional development in the field of entrepreneurship.
  • To increase entrepreneurial economic engagement
  • To communicate the activities of the entrepreneurship hub
  • To provide stakeholders with future entrepreneurship scoping analysis

With representatives from each FE College in Northern Ireland, the Entrepreneurship hub offers FE students a range of opportunities to develop their Enterprise and Entrepreneurship skills. As part of the offer, the College has partnered with Go Succeed NI to guide the development and implementation of the sector-wide action plan, with the delivery of Council-led outreach activities that include programmes such as Ideation and Innovation Camps and “Meet the Entrepreneur” sessions. These initiatives will bring students face-to-face with local entrepreneurial role models and provide hands-on, experiential learning designed to inspire the next generation of Northern Ireland’s business leaders.

Students will further be able to develop through participation in the following:

  • Entrepreneurship workshops and webinars
  • Project Based Learning (PBL)and TSkills support and delivery
  • Oversee the delivery of International Partnerships
  • Promote and deliver the Further Education Sector PBL Competition
  • Signposting to external competitions including Catalyst – Home – Catalyst
  • Participation in the Young Enterprise N.I Company Start up and Team Programmes – Young Enterprise | Leading UK Charity | Empowering Young People
  • Develop and delivery of a suite of qualifications including:
  • OCN L2 Award in Innovation and Enterprise in Practice
  • OCN L4 Certificate in Innovation and Enterprise in Practice
  • Seasonal markets
