Teesside University

At Teesside University, we put enterprise at the heart of our mission. Our long-standing Graduate Enterprise Development Programme provides on-campus start-up accommodation, with support from a dedicated team offering access to mentoring, business advice, networking and development, as well as membership of a powerful Teesside Enterprise Alumni Network. Virtual incubation services mean that even more start-ups can benefit from tailored support.

Through DigitalCity, a major initiative to grow and develop digital media technology businesses in the North East, we deliver our unique DigitalCity Fellowships scheme, providing talented and creative graduates with focused professional, mentoring and financial support to develop their business ideas into successful high-growth companies. In the last 3 years, 138 digital companies have been created through this route.

Entrepreneurs@tees, our programme for students run together with Teesside Students’ Union, supports and encourages entrepreneurship through a wide range of exciting events, activities and business challenges designed to help our students learn about enterprise, get valuable business experience and acquire the skills that can help them to grow a business. Innovative enterprise modules are a feature of our academic programmes, and it’s not only students and graduates who are encouraged to be entrepreneurial – there’s a whole programme of activities for University staff too.
