University of Cumbria

The University of Cumbria is a new university, but with a long history!  We opened our doors in 2007 after a number of successful higher education institutions came together to form the newest university in England. It means we are new, but we have a long heritage of teaching students, and working with businesses and our local, regional, national and international communities from our legacy institutions.  A strategic goal of the university is to support business and entrepreneurship, helping boost the regional and national economy.

We aim to support the employability of our students and graduates by enabling and supporting the development of enterprising skills, attitudes and behaviours, and also by supporting students and graduates to develop enterprising ideas and develop business skills, leading to self-employment, freelancing and/or the start-up of a business (social or commercial).
